Members of the media are invited to briefings and tours of aircraft to learn about NASA’s upcoming research. NASA Administrator Charles Bolden will present a “State of NASA” address and discuss the agency’s scientific and technological achievements as well as its exciting exploration work. Starting at 10:30 a.m. PST on Feb. 2, this live broadcast will be downlinked to NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center, Bldg. 703, in Palmdale. 

Immediately following Bolden’s remarks, Armstrong Center Director David McBride will brief highlights on recent center accomplishments and talk about the center’s future work in aeronautics and space technology development. McBride will also explain the center’s commitment to science discoveries during tours of SOFIA, ER-2, DC-8 and C-20A aircraft. 

After McBride’s briefing, media will have a chance to get a behind-the-scenes tour of the aircraft hangar. In the afternoon, briefings will include cutting-edge technologies under development at Armstrong:

Displays of the above projects with hardware as well as the Towed Glider Air-Launch System will be available to photograph or video.
