On November 9-10, 2011, Explore Mars, Inc. will be presenting the Women and Mars Conference at the Jack Morton Auditorium at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Topics to be discussed at the conference include, “Why are so many women involved in Mars exploration?” and “How can ‘Mars women’ help to advance STEM education for young women and reach non-traditional audiences?” The conference will also feature policy discussions, an astronaut panel, and numerous other topics.
According to Explore Mars President, Artemis Westenberg, “Women could walk on Mars within the next 20 years. In the meantime, it’s time we show the world that right now women are involved with Space and Mars on all levels of work, from entry level engineers to project managers, women are shaping the next world.”
The Women and Mars Conference will feature some of the most prominent women (and men) in the space community and industry including,
