(Cape Canaveral, FL) – Tomorrow, September 28, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas (FL-24) will participate in the Florida Space and Technology Forum. Congresswoman Kosmas will discuss her efforts to minimize the human spaceflight gap and protect Space Coast jobs. The Florida Space and Technology Forum brings together state and federal legislators and KSC and community leaders to craft a public policy agenda and identify space industry priorities for the 2010 state legislative session.
Kosmas, a member of the House Science and Technology Committee, has made minimizing the human spaceflight gap and protecting Space Coast jobs top priorities. Kosmas and Sen. Bill Nelson led a successful effort to include funding for flying the Shuttle into 2011 in the Congressional budget, eliminating the hard deadline for Shuttle retirement. Her efforts have quickly made her a leading advocate for NASA in Congress.
