The HiRISE camera, now orbiting Mars on board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, is helping NASA search for signs of past and present water on Mars. Students were recently challenged to help choose regions of Mars to photograph. Nine selected areas have been imaged.

Participating students represent the first people on Earth to see the resulting images. Students are now challenged to search for signs of water in the images and then submit their observations for publication on the Web site.

The webcast is scheduled for Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. EDT). For more information, visit: http://quest.nasa.gov/challenges/hirise
