The webinar interface, HorizonWimba, allows presentation of powerpoint slides over the Internet during a conference call, and includes other useful functions such as online chat and polling features. To take full advantage of the webinar you will need telephone and Internet access. If you do not have Internet access, however, you can simply join the conference call.

The webinar will be archived online after the completion of the live session. Instructions on how to view an archived event will be posted on the PolarTREC website and emailed to all registered participants.

Webinar with the Oden Expedition

INSTRUCTIONS FOR LOGGING IN TO THE WEBINAR

SETTING UP HORIZONWIMBA

Well before the Webinar, make sure that the computer you will be using is properly configured by going to http://channel.horizonwimba.com and clicking on run the Setup Wizard on the right side of the screen.

Before you begin:

*You will need POP-UPS enabled.

*Your computer will need to accept cookies.

*You will not need QuickTime or a microphone for the Webinar

LOGGING INTO HORIZONWIMBA FOR THE WEBINAR

(1) Go to: http://channel.horizonwimba.com

(2) Select “Participant Login” When the log-in screen loads, enter: Room ID: ARCUS_Live (Room ID is case sensitive! Make sure you have the underscore between “ARCUS” and “Live”.) Name: Enter your full name. Names are not case sensitive.

(3) After the page loads, select the room: “Arctic Research Consortium of the United States (ARCUS)”

It may take a few moments for the page to load. You should see a welcome slide on the main screen and your name will be listed near the bottom right of the interface.

JOINING THE CONFERENCE CALL

1. Dial: 1-800-315-6338

2. You will be prompted to enter your code: PTREC# (78732#).

This will connect you directly to your conference.

NOTE: Participants at the University of Alaska Fairbanks or at international numbers will have to be called directly by the operator to participate in the Webinar. If you are at UAF or an international number during the meeting please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make the required arrangements.

LOGGING OUT

After the session is complete, exit HorizonWimba by clicking on the “Exit” link located near the lower right of the HorizonWimba screen. To end the conference call portion, simply hang up.
