Aerojet’s liquid second-stage engine helped power the United Launch Alliance Delta II launch vehicle and its satellite payload in a launch today from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. The Delta II vehicle, known as the workhorse of the launch industry in its payload class, carried a classified payload for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office.
Aerojet’s Delta II second stage engines are among the world’s most reliable and were called upon once again to complete a mission important to national security. This launch marks the 254th successful Delta launch to date using Aerojet’s second-stage engines. Aerojet, a GenCorp Inc.
