NASA managers will host a media teleconference at 9 a.m., EDT Friday, June 30, to discuss the results of Thursday’s technical review. The purpose of the review was to discuss plans for restoring the Advanced Camera for Surveys science operations on the agency’s Hubble Space Telescope.

NASA engineers received indications on Monday, June 19, that power supply voltages were out of acceptable limits, causing the camera to stop functioning. The instrument was taken off line so engineers could study the problem and determine the appropriate remedy. NASA anticipates camera science observations will resume no earlier than Monday, July 3, with no degradation to performance. Hubble observations have continued using other science instruments on board.
