NASA’s Office of Safety and Mission Assurance will begin
to exchange information with the Army Materiel Command
Quality Federation (AQF), under a new Memorandum of Agreement
(MOA).
The MOA is designed to facilitate communication and
interaction between NASA and AQF. It is a reciprocal
agreement that allows for an information flow between the two
organizations on a range of safety-related issues. NASA and
AQF will also jointly participate in work groups, studies,
analysis, and supplier audit/assessment activities.
“This agreement with the Army Materiel Command gives NASA
access to a unique set of resources that will go a long way
toward enhancing our mission assurance programs,” said NASA
Associate Administrator for Safety and Mission Assurance
Bryan O’Connor. He and Paul Chiodo of the AQF signed the MOA
Wednesday at NASA Headquarters, Washington.
This MOA is the latest in a series of outcomes from
information exchanges between NASA and other organizations
managing high-risk operations. These results include two
recent MOAs with other U.S. Department of Defense
organizations.
