Space Shuttle Discovery is set to roll out to Launch Pad 39B at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Fla., with an upgraded External Tank. First motion is currently targeted for 12:01 a.m. EDT Wednesday, June 15.
The fully-assembled Space Shuttle vehicle, or stack — consisting of the orbiter, External Tank (ET) and twin Solid Rocket Boosters — will be mounted on the Mobile Launcher Platform and delivered to the pad via a Crawler Transporter. The four-mile journey from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to the pad will take about six hours.
Based on the current rollout schedule, the KSC Press Site will be open beginning at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14. STS-114 badges will be honored from 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday through 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Media must arrive for a photo opportunity at the KSC Press Site by 6:30 a.m. Wednesday for transportation to the viewing area.

Discovery’s initial move to Launch Pad 39B will be covered live on NASA Television. Live commentary will begin at the first motion of the Crawler Transporter and continue for about one hour. Live commentary will provide periodic updates and conclude once Discovery reaches the pad. In addition, NASA TV will broadcast live rollout images from 5 to 8 a.m.
Media may pick up their badges at the Pass and Identification Building on State Road 405 by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 or beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday. Media must be properly dressed in long pants and closed shoes with low heels. Sleeveless shirts are not allowed.
