Cosmic Rendezvous – An Evening Among The Stars will take place at the Westin Galleria in Houston, Texas benefiting the Challenger Center for Space Science Education (CCSSE). This national gala for the Challenger Center, emceed by CNN Anchor Miles O’Brien and Houston PBS anchor Ernie Manouse, will raise funds for the CCSSE Learning Center Network to pursue future endeavors to benefit CCSSE worldwide. There will be a special tribute that evening to Dr. Carolyn Farb who was instrumental in establishing support for the original Challenger Center located at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Honorary chairpersons for the evening are former President George Bush and Mrs. Barbara Bush. Joining me for the evening as Honorary Co-Chairs are former astronauts Buzz and Lois Aldrin (Gemini 12, Apollo 11), Alan and Leslie Bean (Apollo 12, Skylab II), Walt and Dot Cunningham (Apollo 7), Joe Allen (STS-5, STS-51A), Dan and Jane Brandenstein (STS-8, STS-51G, STS-32, STS-49), and many more. Our special invited guests include the families of Apollo 1, STS-51L (Challenger) and STS-107 (Columbia). Please note: Autographs and photographs will be at the discretion of each individual astronaut and family member.

The evening will consist of a VIP reception, cocktail reception, silent & live auction and dinner. After the specially designed Westin Galleria space-theme dessert, there will be a live performance by country recording star Lee Greenwood followed by MAX Q – an out-of-this-world dance band! Table sponsorship levels are Mission Control ($25,000), Commander ($15,000), Pilot ($10,000), Mission Specialist ($5000), Payload Specialist ($2500) as well as Flight Directors (individual tickets) available for $250.
