“KSC Gateway to Technology and Space Flight” is the theme for this year’s annual Community Leaders Briefing to be held May 29 at the KSC Visitor Complex.
KSC Director Roy D. Bridges, will meet with various leaders from Brevard County and the State of Florida to discuss a variety of activities taking place at KSC and within NASA. Topics will include the upcoming missions to Mars, Project Prometheus, Teacher in Space, the Orbital Space Plane, the most recent technology from KSC to be inducted into the Space Hall of Fame, and a status on the Columbia recovery and return to flight. Mr. James W. Kennedy, KSC’s new Deputy Director, will also be introduced.
Attendees will gather at the Dr. Kurt H. Debus Conference Facility at 9 a.m. for registration and a continental breakfast and proceed to the briefing to begin at 9:30 a.m. Following the briefing, guests will have an opportunity to see exhibits at the KSC Visitor Complex and the Astronaut Hall of Fame, Delaware North Park Services’ newest attraction.
Several hundred invitations have been sent to a wide variety of community leaders, business executives, state and local government officials, and other community organizations.
