WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Science Committee Chairman Sherwood Boehlert (R-NY) today announced his selection for subcommittee chairs, pending the meeting of the Republican members of the Science Committee.  Following is a list of the Chairs for the 108th Congress:

  • Subcommittee on Energy: Rep. Judy Biggert (R-IL)
  • Subcommittee on Environment, Technology, and Standards: Rep. Vernon Ehlers (R-MI)
  • Subcommittee on Research: Rep. Nick Smith (R-MI)
  • Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics: Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA)

The Republican Steering Committee granted Chairman Rohrabacher a waiver to remain chair and his waiver must still be approved by the House Republican Conference, which is expected later this week.

“Working with a group of this caliber certainly makes my job easier,” said Chairman Sherwood Boehlert (R-NY).  “This veteran team will only be bolstered by Congresswoman Biggert’s extensive work on energy R&D issues.  I am anxious to kick off what promises to be a very aggressive Congress for the Science Committee.”
