It is time to begin preparing your Imagine Mars Exploration Team
for the hour-long interactive workshop, which will air LIVE here
and on NASA TV on Friday, December 13, from 11:00 a.m. to noon
Pacific Standard Time (PST).

Join educators, students and special host, Emmy Award-winning Bill
Nye, The Science Guy, as they explore what a community might be
like on Mars during this entertaining and interactive Web cast.

See real-life, real-time, examples of Mars community elements
imagined by our four in-house Imagine Mars Project teams. Then
follow along as renowned choreographer, Debbie Allen, leads dancers
and Mars scientists through an exploration of how the gravity and
environment of Mars would affect dance and movement.

“We’re going to get students up out of their chairs, literally, and
challenge them to imagine what movement might be like on Mars,”
says Stephenie Lievense, Imagine Mars lead coordinator for the Mars
Exploration Program, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. “This event
serves as a beginning for a whole new world of exploration,
engaging young people to imagine what a community might be like on
Mars some day.”
