CSC Wins $270 Million Contract to Continue Missile Defense Support

Computer Sciences Corporation has been awarded a follow-on
contract to continue supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) with
scientific, engineering, and technical assistance at the Ground-based
Midcourse Defense (GMD) Joint Program Office (JPO). The contract, which
includes a two-year base period and a one-year option, is valued at more than
$270 million if all options are exercised.

Under the agreement, CSC will continue to assist the JPO in the execution
of the GMD element of MDA’s Ballistic Missile Defense System. Services to be
provided under the program include acquisition and business management;
systems engineering, testing and evaluation; program protection and site
activation; and web engineering and information technology (IT) support.

“Our continued assistance will help the government achieve its goals of
establishing a test bed by September 30, 2004,” said Aaron Fuller, vice
president and general manager of CSC’s Advanced Missile Defense and Navy
Marine Corps unit. “We look forward to providing program management and other
services in support of mission-critical systems.”

CSC and its subcontractors will perform the majority of the work in
Washington, D.C., Huntsville, Ala., and Colorado Springs, Colo. Companies
teaming with CSC on the effort include Science Applications International
Corporation, of San Diego, Calif.; SYColeman, a division of L-3
Communications, of New York, N.Y.; COLSA, of Huntsville, Ala.; and a number of
other firms in the Huntsville and Washington D.C. areas.
