Spacenet said Jan. 31 it recently was awarded multiyear contracts from Texas and Illinois to provide SkyEdge broadband satellite terminals at thousands of lottery sites. The contracts, the value of which were not disclosed, follow the deployment in 2010 of SkyEdge terminals to lottery sites in Indiana, Iowa and Louisiana.
The company, a subsidiary of Petah Tikva, Israel-based Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd., said the five networks include a total of nearly 33,000 lottery sites.
Gilat previously announced that it had been selected to provide satellite terminals for lotteries in West Africa and North Africa.
