Congressman Howard Berman and Congressman Dana Rohrabacher recently introduced
legislation dealing with the licensing of commercial satellite exports. H.R. 1707 would return
jurisdiction for commercial communications satellites to the Department of Commerce, while
leaving in place important national security aspects, and requiring referral of all satellite-related
applications to the Departments of State and Defense. Join us for a dialogue with Congressman
Berman as we address this bill and other export control issues and barriers to international
cooperation affecting the aerospace industry.
