NASA to dedicate International Space
Station science command post Feb. 2
What:
The science command post linking Earth-bound
researchers around the world with their
experiments and astronauts on the International
Space Station will be brought "on-line" at NASA's
Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. A
press briefing on the new Payload Operations
Center, interviews with officials and dignitaries, as
well as special tours of the facility and other Space
Station-related activities at Marshall, will be
available to news media.
Who:
Invited to attend are members of Congress, NASA
officials, astronauts and local dignitaries. Hosting
the event will be Marshall Center Director Arthur G.
Stephenson, and Jan Davis, former astronaut and
director of Marshall's Flight Projects Directorate.
When:
Friday, Feb. 2 10 a.m. - 12 noon

NOTE: Effective Jan. 1, all drivers requesting a
visitor pass to Redstone Arsenal will be asked at
the gate to provide proof of liability insurance on
their vehicle if it is registered in Alabama. Failure to
provide proof of such insurance will result in denial
of a pass, and drivers also may be issued a
citation. This is being done in compliance with
Alabama's Mandatory Insurance Act.
