NASA Administrator Charles Bolden and Yannick d’Escatha, the president of the French space agency, CNES, signed four agreements in support of U.S. and French space cooperation Sept. 17 at NASA headquarters in Washington.
The agreements involve multiple science missions, including a NASA-led Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution mission scheduled to launch in 2013 and the four-spacecraft Magnetospheric MultiScale mission scheduled to launch in 2014.
Two additional agreements address the Convection Rotation and Planetary Transits mission, launched in December 2006 in conjunction with the European Space Agency and other international partners, and a Surface Water and Ocean Topography mission.
