ASC Signal Corp. of Plano, Texas, will supply satellite gateway antennas and related equipment to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information under a contract with Kuwait-based Al-Rashed Holdings, ASC said.

The equipment will be used for distribution of television and radio content in the Middle East and Africa, ASC said in a Feb. 18 press release. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The 5.6-meter transmit and receive antennas, operating in Ku- and direct broadcast satellite bands, will connect with satellites operated by Nilesat of Cairo, Egypt, and Arabsat of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Also included in the deal is ASC’s Next Generation Controller, which is capable of operating multiple antenna systems, ASC said.
