Satellite fleet operator SES said Jan. 29 that Orange Business Services has renewed and expanded a capacity contract with SES to provide communications services to businesses across the Russian Federation, including significant parts of Siberia.

The capacity the global information technology and communications services provider is leasing will be onboard SES’s NSS-12 satellite located at 57 degrees east.

“The last decade has seen a steady increase in connectivity demand in the region, and we are delighted to continue to provide flexible and reliable solutions tailored to the growing needs of our customers,” Deepak Mathur, SES senior vice president, Commercial Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, said in a statement.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
