Satellite fleet operator Measat of Malaysia said Jan. 23 that it has an agreement with Telered Technologies and Services Corp. to provide capacity on the Measat-3a satellite for the distribution of the Viva TV and Pinoy Box Office channels across the Philippines. The agreement includes an option for additional capacity to support Telered’s planned future expansion of video distribution services in the Philippines market, Measat said in a press release.

“Telered is excited to embark upon the next stage of its growth plans,” Telered President Redentor Laset said in a statement. “With this capacity, we will be able to serve local and regional programmers for their local distribution requirements.”

Measat-3a was launched in June 2009. The Orbital Sciences Corp.-built satellite is equipped with 12 Ku-band and 12 C-band transponders and operates in the 91.5 degrees east orbital slot above Southeast Asia.
