Taiwanese telecommunications services provider Teleport Access Services has renewed its lease with satellite operator SES of Luxembourg for capacity aboard NSS-11 satellite located at 108.2 degrees east longitude, SES announced June 20.

Teleport Access Services, a longtime SES customer, will use the capacity to deliver television programming and satellite news gathering services across Taiwan, SES said. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Taiwan is one of the most competitive media landscapes in Asia, with a high TV penetration rate and audiences that are accustomed to receiving breaking news immediately,” Michael Kuo, president of Teleport Access Services, said in a prepared statement. “Having been able to rely on SES for the past four years, we chose to extend our partnership and continue to utilise NSS-11 at this prime orbital location covering Taiwan.”
