Carlsbad, Calif.-based ViaSat on March 25 said it had received a delivery order worth approximately $21.5 million from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in San Diego for an unspecified number of Multifunctional Information Distribution-Low Volume Terminals (MIDS-LVT).
MIDS-LVT terminals are secure, high-capacity, jam-resistant wireless communications terminals designed to provide U.S. military personnel with a digital view of the battlefield.
Delivery is expected to begin in March 2011 and run through February 2012, according to a ViaSat press release. The order includes airborne and ground-based terminals.
