Russia launched a military satellite aboard a Proton K rocket March 30 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, according to the Russia’s Itar-Tass news agency.
The launch of the Cosmos-2479 satellite occurred at 9:49 a.m. Moscow time. The satellite separated from the rocket’s Block DM upper stage as planned at 4:27 p.m., Russian Aerospace Defense Forces Col. Alexei Zolotukhin told Itar-Tass.
