The three payloads onboard India’s newly launched Oceansat-2 satellite have been activated and are working satisfactorily, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said Oct. 12. The payloads include an ocean color monitor, a scatterometer and a radio occultation sounder for atmospheric studies.
Oceansat-2 and six nanosatellites were launched Sept. 23 aboard an ISRO polar satellite launch vehicle lifting off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
