On Thursday, Oct. 9, engineers from NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, will give a talk on “Spacecraft, Habitats and Radiation Protection” at 11 a.m. at the Yoder Barn Theatre in nearby Newport News.
Speakers Martha Clowdsley and Dave Moore will discuss how NASA is working to enable humans to explore space without exceeding an acceptable level of risk from exposure to space radiation.
Media who wish to attend should contact Lori Jacobs by e-mail at lori.jacobs@cnu.edu by noon on Wednesday, Oct. 8. Speakers will be available to answer questions from the media following the lecture.
The presentation is part of a five-part lecture series entitled “America’s Human Space Exploration” and is open to members of the Christopher Newport University Lifelong Learning Society.
