LightSquared’s high-capacity mobile communications satellite, SkyTerra 1, has shipped from Boeing Space & Intelligence Systems’ integration and test complex in El Segundo, Calif., to the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Boeing announced Oct. 19.
The Boeing 702HP-based satellite is slated to launch Nov. 14 atop an International Launch Services Proton rocket.
LightSquared and International Launch Services are both based in Reston, Va.
