Global Air & Space Chiefs’ Conference 2022

Wednesday, July 13 @ 12:00 pm - Thursday, July 14 @ 2:30 pm

The Chief of the Air Staff’s Global Air & Space Chiefs’ Conference 2022

Maintaining Our Leading Edge

The Chief of the Air Staff’s Global Air & Space Chiefs’ Conference 2022 brings together global leaders in Air and Space Power with captains of industry and technology, enhanced by experts from international academia.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Maintaining Our Leading Edge’ – described as the most advanced position in Air and Space Power. This aligns with the Royal Air Force aim to retain operational advantage – the ability to find and maintain an edge over potential adversaries.

The Conference will examine the constituent components of this ambition, including the Operational and Integrated edge. Presentations will encompass the Adaptive and Technological edge, together with the Digital, Data and Information edge.  The Conference will then consider the challenges of the Ethical and Moral edge, before highlighting the importance of gaining and maintaining the Sustainable edge.

  • The Operational and Integrated Edge considers the challenge of evolving the RAF’s capabilities in air, space and cyber at the pace of relevance, and of integrating effectively across domains, with allies and partners.
  • The Adaptive and Technological Edge analyses how the RAF transforms its organisations and capabilities ‘in flight’ to gain and maintain technological advantages across all domains.
  • The Digital, Data and Information Edge focuses on maximising the utility of digital and data connectivity, to guarantee information assurance and availability to key decision-makers at all levels.
  • The Ethical and Moral Edge emphasises the importance of safeguarding the RAF’s moral and ethical standards and values during operations across all domains.
  • The Sustainable Edge highlights the strategic importance of creating forces fit for a more sustainable future.

“The Royal Air Force must evolve and innovate relentlessly at the cutting edge of technology, ready to face the threats of the future.

Looking to the future, we must continue to deliver decisive Air and Space Power in an ever more complex, competed and contested joint operating environment. It will be our credibility and ability to fight that will underpin our ability to operate across all Domains, so we must be prepared and able to defend against sophisticated threats in the electro-magnetic spectrum, and in cyber, air and space.

This is our journey to the Next Generation Royal Air Force and it has already begun”.

Air Chief Marshal Sir Mike Wigston, Chief of the Air Staff

Global Air & Space Chiefs’ Conference 2022 will feature conference, exhibition and networking with an exclusive reception on the evening of Day One as well as a live-casting platform for virtual attendees, ensuring like-minded Air and Space Power professionals from across the globe can provide their insights and discuss future opportunities with the aim of building resilience and exploring opportunity.
