The 2nd NOAA Workshop on Leveraging AI in Environmental Sciences will be held on 21-24 April 2020 at the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction (NCWCP) in College Park, MD, USA. Following the success of the 1st Workshop on Leveraging AI, the workshop will cover a broad range of topics related to AI applications in environmental monitoring and prediction:
(1) Furthering scientific investigations to maximize information extraction from Earth observations;
(2) Improving environmental modeling and forecasting;
(3) Improving the efficiency of environmental data processing and exploitation;
(4) Expanding commercial markets of high-level environment-related products and services to benefit society and the economy.
The workshop is appropriate for scientists, program managers, students, and leaders from the public, academic, commercial, and private sectors. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, share lessons learned, and discuss both the future potential and limitations of AI, as well as establish collaborations. Planned workshop events including oral presentations, poster sessions, and hands-on AI tutorials will help facilitate such collaborations.
Registration and abstract submission are both free. The abstract submission deadline is 3 February 2020. The Foreign National registration deadline is 14 February 2020, and the general registration deadline is 13 March 2020.
