General Martin E. Dempsey, the 18th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will visit Offutt Air Force Base Tuesday, June 26, 2012 for briefings on nuclear, space, and cyber capabilities and to address U.S. Strategic Command and Team Offutt personnel. This will be the Chairman’s first visit to Offutt Air Force Base since assuming the duties of the nation’s highest-ranking military officer in which he serves as the principal military adviser to the President, the Secretary of Defense and the National Security Council.

The Chairman will host a townhall meeting with three hundred military personnel from U.S. Strategic Command, the 55th Wing and the Air Force Weather Agency.

The remarks and visit with personnel will be open to pre-credentialed correspondents. All media must RSVP to U.S. Strategic Command Public Affairs by 1:00pm CDT Friday June 22, 2012.

Gen. Dempsey will be available, if time permits, immediately following the townhall for questions and answers with media.
