Ground Control to Major Tom, the perfect holiday gift is on! Skip the long lines and early morning waits and gift someone their very own set of legendary space heroes with the Astronaut Autograph Club. This one-of-a-kind club includes an astronaut-autographed photo and personalized letter from some of America’s most accomplished space travelers, which will touchdown at your doorstep each month well after the holiday rush has cleared.
Beginning today, the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, a non-profit organization, has made available just 350 memberships to the 2013 Astronaut Autograph Club at www.AstronautStore.org, as a means to raise funds for its scholarship program for top science, technology, engineering, and math college students across the United States. Members will receive a certificate of membership, an archival photo box with protective sleeves, twelve 8 x 10″ authentic, astronaut-autographed photos (delivered over the course of the year) and twelve personalized letters from astronauts of the United States Space Shuttle program. This year’s participating astronauts include seven-time space shuttle veteran Franklin Chang Diaz; Bonnie Dunbar, who has logged more than 50 days in space across five space missions; and Jim Voss, who lived aboard the International Space Station for 176 days during Expedition 2. The 2013 club totals nearly 20 space shuttle missions and tens of thousands of miles traveled around the globe.
Fans can make a one-time payment of $499 or opt to pay 12 monthly installments of $49.95 plus shipping at www.AstronautStore.org. Clubs are limited and sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Proceeds benefit the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established by the Mercury Astronauts in 1984. Its goal is to aid the United States in retaining its world leadership in science and technology by providing scholarships for exceptional college students pursuing degrees in these fields. ASF funds twenty-eight $10,000 scholarships annually and has awarded $3.5 million to students nationwide. For more information log on to: www.AstronautScholarship.org.
