On Wednesday, Aug. 26, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, will host a Small Business Forum in conjunction with the New Orleans’ Chamber of Commerce.

The forum will be held at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans and will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. CDT. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to do business with NASA and NASA’s contractor partners. Senior representatives will be on hand from across the agency to answer questions and talk about opportunities for partnering with NASA.

News media are invited to ask questions of NASA leadership during a media availability at 10 a.m. CDT.

On Thursday, Aug. 27, NASA’s Michoud will hold a remembrance ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. During the storm, 38 men and women secured and protected critical space hardware at Michoud that, if damaged, would have been devastating to the Space Shuttle Program. The ceremony will honor their bravery, as well as the countless number of individuals who worked tirelessly across New Orleans, southern Louisiana, and southern Mississippi during and since the storm to bring recovery to the area.

News media are invited to attend the ceremony, and to attend a media opportunity beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 27.

News media interested in attending either or both events should contact Shannon Ridinger in NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center Public Affairs Office at 256-541-7698 no later than noon on Aug. 25 for badging and arrival location and logistics.
