What: Patrick Scheuermann, director of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will discuss the Marshall Center’s activities and outlook with community leaders, elected officials and industry partners at the annual Marshall Center Director’s Breakfast on Wednesday, May 15, at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville.

Scheuermann also will present the 2012 Marshall Center Contractor Excellence Awards, given annually to current prime contractors, subcontractors and suppliers who have made significant contributions to NASA’s and Marshall’s mission. The theme for this year’s event, “We Do the Hard Stuff Together,” emphasizes the importance of Marshall’s partnerships with industry, government and academia, which are essential to the center’s role in NASA’s mission and long-range strategy, including development of the Space Launch System and support to the commercial space transportation industry.
