AN ASSESSMENT OF BALANCE IN NASA’S SCIENCE PROGRAMS, new from the National Academies’ National Research Council, considers whether NASA’s plan adequately includes all relevant disciplines — earth and planetary sciences, life and microgravity sciences, astronomy and astrophysics, and solar and space physics — and reflects scientific priorities recommended in previous decadal surveys by the Research Council.
