Lockheed Martin Space Systems has completed integration of the primary antenna and spacecraft platform for the first Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) satellite it is building for the U.S. Navy, according to a Feb. 24 company press release.
Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Lockheed Martin is now preparing for environmental testing of the first MUOS satellite, which has been delayed and is now scheduled to launch in 2011. Lockheed is under contract to build four of the secure, mobile communications satellites.
